Grow Fruit & Veg

Nothing ever tastes as good as something you’ve grown yourself!

Tomato Beefsteak PlantMore and more gardeners are discovering the benefits and satisfaction of “growing their own”. Green Pastures is here to help with a wide range of plants and seeds for the budding kitchen gardener.

With a farm shop to grow for, our expertise in the fruit and vegetable business ensures we can supply the gardener with everything they need throughout the seasons.

We start the year with a wide range of fruit trees and soft fruit bushes at very reasonable prices. The seed potato collection arrives in early January along with Onion sets and Shallots.

Spring sees the arrival of the young plants, starting with salads and the summer brassicas and some peas and beans for good measure. We also kick the spring off with a well planned selection of strawberry plants to give a succession of fruit and fine flavours throughout the summer and autumn.

For the late spring and summer we offer many varieties of the more tender vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and chillies. In midsummer we offer a range of brassica plants to keep the kitchen supplied during the winter months. A selection of vegetable seeds is available throughout the year including the tried and tested varieties as well as the more unusual.

Growing is Good for You Too! All that fresh air and exercise which you’ll be gaining will give your body a great workout.

Sow a Packet and Save a Packet; Think of all that money you could be saving from your weekly shopping bill.

Choice; Fancy something a little bit different for the kitchen? How about some golden raspberries or perhaps some purple potatoes? Growing your own nearly always gives you more access to a far greater choice including some great shapes, sizes, colours and flavours which you’ll rarely find in the supermarket.

patchGood for the Environment; With zero food miles and being safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to use any chemicals or synthetic fertilisers, you can eat your food knowing exactly where it came from.

Satisfaction Guaranteed; Nothing ever tastes as good as something you’ve grown yourself!

Looking Good; Not all fruit and veg needs to be hidden at the bottom of the garden. Some of them make very attractive plants and can take pride of place in your flower borders or patio.

Share it Around; Nearly everyone always ends up with surplus produce and swapping your excess crops with another gardener, or maybe just giving it away to family and friends feels very rewarding.
